Recruitment – ADAPPT application

Research shows that parents of neurodivergent children often experience high levels of stress. To help address this, we developed Adappt, an app created in collaboration with parents as well as professionals from healthcare and education. Its content is based on evidence-based exercises aimed at improving mental well-being (from the field of positive psychology).

My name is Kim Tönis, and I am a PhD-candidate at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. Together with my colleagues, I am conducting a European Union funded study on a new app designed to support the mental well-being of  parents of neurodivergent children (including, among others ADHD, autism, dyslexia/dyscalculia, and dyspraxia).

We are currently evaluating whether Adappt works as intended and are recruiting for our international effectiveness study. We are looking for parents of neurodivergent children under 18 who are willing to work on their own mental well-being and support our research. Participation involves completing four questionnaires and using the app for one month.

The flyer links to our study website (also available in Dutch, English and French), where parents can find more information and sign up directly. We will then follow up with them personally.

If you have any questions about the study, the app, or the recruitment process, feel free to contact Kim Tönis (PhD-Candidate),  University of Twente

The article explains how positive psychology can help parents and families of neurodivergent people, by providing exercises and tools to improve their #mentalhealth and wellbeing. Kim also presents the ADAPPT app that uses positive psychology to support parents and families.
